³Blessed is he that read­eth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are writ­ten therein: for the time is at hand.

Wow, again we have a pow­er­ful verse here talk­ing about the real­ity of the book of Rev­e­la­tion and how it fits in with the rest of the writ­ten word.

You must come to an under­stand­ing of who you are in Christ before the Spirit of God can work the mir­a­cles that He is sup­posed to be work­ing through you in these last days.

Yes, I do most def­i­nitely believe we are at the time of the end and as we get fur­ther into the book of Rev­e­la­tion that will become all the more clear.

The book of Rev­e­la­tion how­ever is not just about the time of the very end, it is about the entire time from the ressurec­tion of Christ until the time when all things will be fulfilled.

One par­tic­u­lar word that I want to focus on in this verse is the word keep.

Keep actu­ally means to watch or hold fast to in this context.

It is some­times easy to look over sim­ple words in scrip­ture, but some­times the sim­plist of words can have the most meaning.

We are liv­ing in a time when things are hap­pen­ing very quickly. Tech­nol­ogy has pushed us into over­drive and it is often eas­ier to get caught up in the eb and flow of life, not really think­ing about the things that are going on in the world around us.

It is clear here how­ever that we are to watch for the ful­fill­ment of these things in scrip­ture and hold fast to what is writ­ten, not only in obser­vance, but in the actions that we take and the way that we live our lives.

32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, nei­ther the Son, but the Father. 33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. 34 For the Son of man is as a man tak­ing a far jour­ney, who left his house, and gave author­ity to his ser­vants, and to every man his work, and com­manded the porter to watch. 35 Watch ye there­fore: for ye know not when the mas­ter of the house cometh, at even, or at mid­night, or at the cock­crow­ing, or in the morn­ing: 36 Lest com­ing sud­denly he find you sleep­ing. 37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

No man has even known the day or the hour that they were going to leave this world. We are all liv­ing by every breath of God and by the power of His Word.

We are going to uncover some pretty amaz­ing things as we go through the book of Rev­e­la­tion, but before we even get started going through this book we need to real­ize who God has called us to be in this life and what a great respon­si­bil­ity that you and I have.

We have been given the gift of life through Christ Jesus our Lord and we must hold our­selves to the stan­dard as if He were com­ing tomor­row. After all, He very well could be…
